The growing online presence of politicians and their habit of commenting on blogs and social media, combined with disproportionate attention from the media for such environments, has resulted in dangerous liaisons. The news agenda seems at times to be dictated by a politician’s Facebook status or latest provocative tweet. Politics risks becoming the repetition of images posted on Instagram by a spin doctor. Is this a new form of propaganda made of content propagation?
