Stefano Pivato is professor of Modern History at the University of Urbino. He is the author of Il nome e la storia. Onomastica e religioni politiche nell’Italia contemporanea (1999), Bella ciao. Canto e politica nella storia d’Italia (2005), Vuoti di memoria. Usi e abusi della storia nella vita pubblica italiana (2007) and Il secolo del rumore. Il paesaggio sonoro nel Novecento (2011). His latest book, entitled Al limite della docenza. Piccola antropologia del professore universitario, will be published in 2015.
