Simona Ghizzoni

Simona Ghizzoni is a photographer of the Contrasto photo agency. Since 2005 she has focused her work on the documentary reporting of women. Her photo on food disorders was awarded third place in the Portraits category of the 2008 World Press Photo contest and, with the same project, she won the 2009 Photoespaña Ojodepez Award for Human Values. With Afterdark, a long-term project on the effect of war on women, she won third prize in the Contemporary Issues singles category of the 2012 World Press Photo contest.
