Roberto Koch
founder and CEO Contrasto
Roberto Koch is a publisher, curator, photographer and organiser of cultural events based around photography, in which field he has been active internationally for over 30 years.
In 1994 he founded the publishing house Contrasto – which publishes books both in Italian and in English – which is well-known worldwide having published more than 400 books on international photography. He is also the founder (in 1986) and CEO of the Contrasto photo agency, the biggest Italian photo agency.
Roberto Koch is the founder and president of the Forma Foundation for Photography in Milan, which hosts major photography exhibitions and didactic activities.
He was a member of the World Press Photo international jury in 1996, 1997 and 1999. In 2003 he was a member of the jury of the Henri Cartier-Bresson award while in 2010 he was a member of the jury of the Sony International Awards of Photography.
