Maurizio Faraboni

Maurizio Faraboni was born in Novara Italy in 1972 and after High School he decided to dedicate himself to photography. Beginning as an assistant to the photographer Monty Shadow, with whom he has done advertising campaigns worldwide, he then worked as assistant to Wahb Mabkhout, an extravagant and brilliant photographer of Moroccan origin, with whom he photographed the most famous supermodels of the late '90s. He has always been passionate about world cultures, so he has dedicated himself to reportage. He worked on a project, which lasted 10 years, about leprosy patients. He has worked in the Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe, South America and the Caribbean. Since April 2015 he has contributed to Giornale.it and The Eyes of War, for which he has documented the movement of migrants from the Turkish coast to Europe. He has also conducted a reportage on the status of women in India.
His latest work deals with environmental contamination in the Dominican Republic, where a huge mine is poisoning the rivers with mercury and cyanide, and Haitian workers bought in to cut sugar cane.
