Massimo Russo, before taking over the Digital Division of the Espresso Group, was co-editor of La Stampa. He had previously edited the Italian edition of Wired for two years. Before that he had been director of content and product development of the Digital Division itself. A journalist since 1991, he worked for ten years in the Finegil newspapers and between '92 and '93, with a scholarship, at Columbia University in New York. In 1999 he was one of the founders of Kataweb, then the Internet company of L'Espresso. He was a member of the Italian parliamentary commission for the drafting of an Internet Bill of Rights.
