Marta Durán de Huerta Patiño is a journalist, sociologist and university lecturer. She holds a doctorate in sociology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma of Mexico and a degree in Journalism from the Carlos Septién García Journalism School.
She currently teaches journalism at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana and political journalism at the Carlos Septién García Journalism School. She is Mexico correspondent for Radio Netherland, contributor to the Mexican weekly Proceso and to the Estonian magazine Tel heet.
She is the author of eight books on the problems of contemporary Mexico. including Io, Marcos. Il nuovo Zapata racconta (1998), published in Italian by Fetrinelli.
