Marina Popescu

Marina Popescu obtained her PhD in quantitative political science at the Department of Government, University of Essex with a thesis on contextual determinants of media effects in 2008. As part of her subsequent British Academy postdoctoral fellowship, she developed a cross-national expert survey of media systems, which is going to have its third wave fielded in early 2016. She has been teaching graduate courses in political communication, research methods, new forms of citizen engagement and political accountability at the Central European University, Budapest. Marina is the principal investigator of the Less Hate, More Speech project as well as the founding director of the Median Research Centre.
