Maria Iftimoaiea

Maria Iftimoaiea was born in Romania, in a small town in the countryside. She arrived in Italy at the age of twenty, with her husband and a 7-month-old daughter. She began with heavy work: bricklayer, gardener, and currently she is a worker in a farm in the province of Taranto, where she is a FLAI CGIL trade union delegate. Maria is the leader of the Change Terra program of ActionAid Italy: “for the future I want to make the work of other people, and especially that of women, easier, so that no other woman has to live as I have lived”.
