Marco Cappato is the treasurer of the Luca Coscioni Association for the freedom of scientific research, of which he was also secretary. He was head of the Transnational Radical Party at the United Nations, MEP and national parliamentarian for the Bonino List and candidate for mayor in Milan for the Italian Radicals. He has conducted dozens of campaigns for anti-prohibitionism, for legal euthanasia and against the law on assisted fertilization. In 2020 with the Luca Coscioni Association he was among the promoters of the collection of signatures for the Italian referendums on euthanasia and legal cannabis.
