Marc Cooper

Marc Cooper is an award-winning journalist and author who has covered politics and culture across the world for 40 years. Marc is also an Associate Professor of Journalism at the University of Southern California where he is also Founding Director of Annenberg Digital News, the most trafficked university-based news site in the United States. His work has appeared in scores of publications ranging from The New Yorker, Harper’s and The Atlantic to Rolling Stone, Playboy and L.A. Weekly. His reportage and commentaries have appeared in myriad newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the London Observer, The Guardian, La Jornada and dozens of others. He has produced and reported television news documentaries for CBS News, Christian Science Monitor Reports and PBS Frontline. From 1995-2005 he was host and executive producer of Radio Nation. He has been a staff writer and now a contributing editor for The Nation magazine since 1995. He’s a former Senior Editor of The Huffington Post and directed its massive Campaign ‘08 OffTheBus citizen journalism project. He is the author of three non-fiction books including the L.A. Times Best-Seller, Pinochet and Me: A Chilean Anti-Memoir. In the early 1970s he served as translator to former Chilean President Salvador Allende.
