Juliane Leopold is a freelance digital consultant. She was until January 2016 the founding editor of BuzzFeed Deutschland, which launched in 2014. Prior to BuzzFeed, she worked as Social Media editor of Germany's biggest weekly newspaper Die ZEIT and ZEIT ONLINE. She has also worked at Neue Zürcher Zeitung and der Freitag. Juliane's journalism background and experience has always been closely related to her love of social media and blogging. Juliane studied Media and Communication Studies and Film Studies in Berlin and earned her degree with a dissertation on user-generated content in German media in 2010.
