Joseph Warungu is a broadcast journalist and media trainer with 30 years of experience, twenty of which were spent at the BBC where he was head of the BBC African News and Current Affairs Department responsible for the flagship Focus on Africa radio programme and quarterly publication. He is a former Knight International Journalism Fellow and is widely travelled in Africa, working as a journalist and trainer. He runs Top Story - a national mentorship programme for young journalists in Kenya, which takes the form of a popular reality TV show on investigative journalism, produced with support from the European Journalism Centre.
