Jennifer Rauch

Jennifer Rauch is a Professor of Journalism and Communication Studies at Long Island University Brooklyn and a member of the advisory panel for the George Polk Awards in investigative journalism. Her book Slow Media: Why Slow Means Satisfying, Sustainable & Smart (Oxford University Press, 2018) examines public critiques of "fast" journalism and the budding movement toward Slow News, from the perspective of producers and consumers. She has published numerous articles about alternative journalism, news audiences, and media activism for both academic and mainstream outlets. Her current project compares right-wing and left-wing activists' attitudes and behaviors toward alternative media and mainstream news.
