Jennifer 8. Lee

Jennifer 8. Lee is CEO of Plympton, a literary studio that works on innovative publishing projects. She is also a journalist, documentary producer, seed investor, and emoji activist.
After working at The New York Times as the youngest full reporter ever hired, Jenny produced The Search for General Tso and Picture Character, both documentaries that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. She is the author of The Fortune Cookie Chronicles, a book about the Americanization of Chinese food that hit #25 on the New York Times bestseller list.
Jenny is a co-founder of the Credibility Coalition, a group supported by Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Craig Newmark to combat misinformation on the Internet. She was lead judge for the Knight News Challenge, which gave away $25 million to innovative projects in journalism. She serves on the boards of the Digital Public Library for America, both Pulitzer-winning Center for Public Integrity and InsideClimate News non-profit news organizations, the Roxie Theater in San Francisco, the Nieman Foundation at Harvard, and the Asian American Writers’ Workshop.
She graduated with a degree in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard, where she was vice-president of The Harvard Crimson. She attended Beijing University on a fellowship.
