Jennifer Choi

News Integrity Initiative CUNY

Jennifer Choi is the associate director for strategic partnerships of the News Integrity Initiative at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She is responsible for connecting with collaborators around the world, organizing events, and facilitating peer-to-peer learning and support for community-focused journalism.

Jennifer has more than seven years of experience at the intersection of local news, community engagement, and philanthropy. Most recently as vice president and chief content officer for the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, she led a team of eight to design a roadmap for a 10-year strategic plan, featuring an emphasis on best practices for social justice philanthropy. She also directed an $8 million civics, journalism and good government grants portfolio at the McCormick Foundation in Chicago. And she led an unprecedented effort to institute a racial equity lens for the foundation’s operations and grant making.
