Isabelle Sonnenfeld
head of Google News Lab EMEA
Isabelle Sonnenfeld is head of Google News Lab EMEA. She was previously head of Google News Lab for Germany, Austria and Switzerland from 2015 until September 2022. In her role she works with publishers, their editors and journalists, as well as media startups to empower innovation in digital journalism and help create a sustainable news ecosystem.
Prior to joining Google, Isabelle was the first employee at Twitter Germany in 2011. In her role as Head of News, Government & Politics for the DACH region, she was responsible for entering the market, business development and working with political organizations and the media industry. In 2015, she founded the event and podcast series RoleModels to make female role models more visible. In 2018 she received the award "25 Women Who Revolutionize Our Economy" by Edition F.
