Hannes Grassegger is a journalist and economist. His reporting focuses on how networked technology changes the way we live. His articles and in-depth essays have been published in The New Republic, ProPublica, The Guardian, VICE, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Das Magazin (CH), ZEIT Magazin, NZZ am Sonntag, Spiegel Online and Financial Times Germany, amongst others. He has served as a staff writer with Reportagen magazine, the leading literary long-form magazine in the German-speaking area. He is the author of Das Kapital bin ich (2014) about how we could make a living from our personal data instead of fearing surveillance.
