Giuseppe Englaro is the author of the book La vita senza limiti (in translation, Life without limits), written with Adriana Pannitteri (Rizzoli, 2009) and inspired by the battle he fought for his daughter Eluana, who lived in a vegetative state for 17 years after an accident. He was investigated by prosecutors in his home town of Udine in northern Italy for interrupting the feeding and the hydration of his daughter, and later acquitted of all charges. The case of Eluana Englaro generated enormous controversy in Italy.
