Gianni Pittella is an elected member, with the role of vice president, of the European Parliament for the Partito Democratico. He is also president of the Associazione Prima Persona, co-founder of the Centro Europeo per lo Sviluppo del Mediterraneo Meseuro, president of the members assembly of the Fondazione Mezzogiorno Europa, and a board member of both the Fondazione Italianieuropei and the Fondazione Università Link Campus. He is the author of L'anatra zoppa.
