Gaia Manco
freelance journalist
Gaia Manco is an Italian journalist currently living in South Africa. She works as a multimedia freelancer for international media outlets and she is a regular contributor to Deutsche Welle Radio. Passionate about audio production, she is the voice and mind behind Yebo!, the weekly Africa feature of Radio Bullets. In 2015, she launched the travel podcast Accidentally in Joburg. At the Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation, University of Pretoria, she is in charge of translating academic research and data into readable content for news and social media. She focuses in particular on open data research projects.
She holds a MA in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Westminster and a MA in Multimedia Journalism from Bournemouth University. In 2014 she was awarded the China-Germany Media Ambassador Fellowship from the Robert Bosch Foundation.
