director Visual Social Media Lab
Farida Vis is Director of the Visual Social Media Lab (VSML), which brings together a group of interdisciplinary researchers from academia and industry interested in analyzing social media images. She is Professor of Digital Media at the Manchester School of Art. Taking seriously the need to engage beyond academia, she sits on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Information and Entertainment. The VSML is part of First Draft’s Academic Partner Network and is working on a number of collaborative projects on mis/disinformation focused on images.
