Eric Matthies is an independent producer based in Los Angeles with over 20 years experience in multi-disciplinary documentary and narrative productions. He has produced globally recognized films including Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, Killing The Messenger: The Deadly Cost of News and Ayamye. Recognitions include a Saturn Award, PGA Award, Grammy nomination, NAACP Image Award nomination, LAFF Audience Choice Award and a Social Justice Fund nomination.
Work that Eric has produced or directed has appeared at The Venice Biennale, Sundance, SXSW, LAFF, The Whitney Museum, AFI & TriBeCa. He is a contributor to International News Safety Institute and Free Press and serves as consultant for the 5D|Institute at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
