Emma Goodman

Emma Goodman is working on a report to map and analyse the research and various initiatives that are addressing issues around gender and news media, looking both at numbers of women in the newsroom, and how women and gender issues are represented in news content.

She also works as a Policy Officer at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she edits the Department of Media and Communications’ blog Media@LSE, as well as contributing to policy briefings on topics such as political campaigning in the digital age and regulation of social media. Additionally, she is co-editor of the annual report Innovations in News Media, published by INNOVATION Media Consulting, tracking the evolution of news publishers’ business models and editorial practices.

Previously, she spent five years at the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers in Paris, researching and writing about international media trends, focusing on how newspapers handled the transition from print to digital.
