Diogo Queiroz Andrade was until March 2016 the Creative Director of Observador.pt, a digital news media startup launched in Portugal in May 2014. In less than two years of operation it has had a notable success, achieving an audience of 3.5m visitors, 8.5m visits, 43m page views, which places it in fourth position in the national ranking, ahead of most legacy newspapers. He is currently developing a new Portuguese financial news website scheduled for launch in October 2016.
Diogo is also the organizer of the Portuguese group of the Online News Association and the author of Manual de Jornalismo Digital, a guidebook for digital journalists (in Portuguese). He has over twenty years of experience working in Portuguese media as a journalist, a multimedia producer and a documentary director. He also taught classes and chaired public events on digital disruption, the future of media and technological transformation.
