Colin Agur is Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and a Research Fellow at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University. His research focuses on mobile communication, including recent and ongoing studies in mobile chat apps in journalism, and on the unexpected consequences of mass mobile phone networks. He has published research articles in Media, Culture & Society, Journalism: Theory, Practice, Criticism, Information & Culture, and the Journal of Asian & African Studies. At the International Communication Association, he is Vice Chair of the Mobile Communication Interest Group and will serve as Chair during 2017-19.
