Catherine Vieira is the editor of the national news section of Valor Económico, the most influential business daily in Brazil. Previously, she worked as investments editor for the same newspaper. She has also worked as editor of the economics section at Jornal Nacional/TV Globo (the TV news with the largest audience in Brazil), as editor for a website of personal finance (Investshop.com) and as a reporter and assistant editor of the daily newspapers Extra and O Dia. Prior to that, she worked in corporate communications. In 2006, Catherine won the award of best reporter of Valor Económico. She holds an MBA in finance.
Valor Económico was launched in 2000 by the Grupo Folha and Globo Organizations. Today, Valor Económico is considered the most respected business daily in Brazil. It has received more than 40 awards, including two Esso and two international graphic design awards. This newspaper has a circulation of 60,000 copies with 50,000 subscribers and a projection of about 200,000 readers.
