Catherine Sotirakou
Alpha TV

Catherine Sotirakou works as a TV news reporter at Alpha Satellite Television, a national TV station in Greece. She has covered a range of topics over the last five years, mostly breaking news, crime stories and the refugee crisis. She is also a Researcher and a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She holds a masters degree in Digital Media and currently she is a Ph.D Candidate in the area of Computational Journalism at the Department of Media Studies, University of Athens. Her research interests are data journalism, fact checking, second screen phenomenon, narrative data visualizations and social computing in the news.
