Beatrice Mautino is one of the most popular scientific communicators on Italian social media, where she deals with cosmetics "seen through the eyes of science".
A trained biotechnologist, she writes the column La ceretta di Occam in Le Scienze and is the author of Contro natura (co-authored with Dario Bressanini, Rizzoli, 2015), Il trucco c'è e si vede (Chiarelettere, 2018), La scienza nascosta dei cosmetici (Chiarelettere, 2020) and È naturale bellezza (Mondadori, 2021).
With Frame - Scientific Digressions, of which she is a co-founder, she curates exhibitions and scientific events of international importance.Since 2022, she hosts the podcast 'Ci vuole una scienza' for Il Post, in collaboration with Emanuele Menietti.
