Arturo Filastò

Open Observatory of Network Interference

Arturo Filastò is the co-founder and lead software developer of the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI), a free software project under The Tor Project that has been examining internet censorship around the world since 2012. Arturo is also the co-founder and vice president of the Hermes Centre for Digital Human Rights. He previously worked as one of the core developers of GlobaLeaks, the first open source whistleblowing platform that enables groups and individuals to report on corruption, human rights violations, and other injustices in a secure way. He also helped develop Tor2Web and Atlas, amongst many other projects. Arturo studied mathematics and computer science at Università di Roma “La Sapienza”. He is a well-known security and network measurement researcher and regularly gives lectures at international conferences.
