Alina Ostling
Global Citizenship Observatory
Alina Ostling works at the Global Citizenship Observatory (European University Institute), doing research on citizen rights and electoral participation. In her previous position Alina used to work at the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom, where she was part of the team coordinating the "Media Pluralism Monitor" survey, implemented in over 30 countries. She holds a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence and has a strong background in media, democracy and public participation. In addition to her academic expertise, Alina has a long experience as an independent consultant providing research and policy support to the European Commission, international organisations (UNDP, UNICEF, OSCE/ODIHR) and civil society organisations (Transparency International, Open Government Partnership).
