From Watergate to ghost flights, the Freedom of Information Act has allowed journalists and citizens access to vital information. In Italy, there is no law of this kind. Other than the new regulations on transparency, how distant is Italy from leading countries worldwide in terms of practical application of the law of access?
After having presented at the 2013 International Journalism Festival a preview of the results of the first field monitoring of access to information in Italy, the association Diritto Di Sapere discusses, with national and international experts, what is needed for a Freedom of Information Act in Italy.
