A story of freedom and denied rights. Since 2002, Mohamedou Ould Slahi has been held in the Guantánamo Bay prison camp, despite having been acquitted for lack of evidence. In 2005, he began writing a diary on which the writer and activist Larry Siems worked as editor. The title of the book is Guantánamo Diary. It is the first book to be published by an inmate of the maximum security facility. A harrowing read, and a testament to human dignity and resilience.
