Has awareness of the risks associated with digital tools grown at the same speed with which technology has entered the everyday life of journalists? And, in turn, has the bar of the "digital self-defense" capability of journalists been raised?
Starting from these questions, the session will aim to discover the Italian situation. Anonymous interviews have been conducted with reporters, flanked by a survey on minimum security standards applied by the editors of major national newspapers on their web services and emails. No study of this kind in Italy has been done previously.
The first exploratory analysis was illustrated last November in Rome. The research has continued in the meantime.
