Father Alex Zanotelli has spent a lifetime alongside the poor and the destitute - from the shantytowns of Nairobi to the Sanità district of Naples, passing through Sudan, Kenya and the experience of Riace. A life from which he has learned the importance of the Church as a refuge, able to welcome and protect. And it is precisely by protecting the poorest that Alex Zanotelli has learned to see racism as a way of building popular support, functional for every abuse, every war. In his testimony Prima che gridino le pietre (2018), written together with the journalist Valentina Furlanetto, there is a committed Italy that does not give way to barbarism and carries on the teaching of civil disobedience.
