During the Olympics last summer, a South Korean fencer refused to leave the floor because she disagreed with the judge's ruling. Instead of writing a traditional news article about it, a BuzzFeed staffer told the story using animated GIFs. The post got 475,000 views — 395,000 of which (83 percent) were via sharing. With more and more people consuming news they find out about via social media, how can publications evolve the way they tell stories to adapt to the new social age?
