Margaret Sullivan is the Washington Post's media columnist, writing twice weekly on press rights, the digital transformation, media ethics and the business of journalism. She was the first female (and longest-serving) public editor of the New York Times; and the first female executive editor of The Buffalo News, where she started her career as a summer intern and rose through the ranks. The mother of two, and a former member of the Pulitzer Prize board, she lives in New York City.
