Luigi Ciotti, a Catholic priest, is the founder of the Gruppo Abele, the monthly magazine Narcomafie and also of Libera, the association of national and international groups involved in the fight against organised crime, in particular the mafia. In 1996 he was named Cavaliere di Gran Croce dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana. He is the author of Etica e politica (2006) and La speranza non è in vendita (2011) and co-author with Salvatore Natoli of Beati quelli che hanno fame e sete della giustizia, perché saranno saziati (2013) and with Antonio Mazzi e Antonio Sciortino of Cambiare noi (San Paolo, 2013).
